Half long type with large oval shaped bulbs. White fleshed variety with superb flavour, easy to grow and rewards with bountiful crops. Harvest July-early September. 500g pack.

Unpack on arrival, and spread out in a cool, light place. Allow approximately 30cm (12") between rows and 15cm (6") between bulbs. Lift crop when leaves turn yellow, dry in sunshine, and store under cool, dry frost-free conditions. 400g of shallots (approximately 15-20 bulbs) will plant a row of about 3m (10').
Shallots are an easy to grow vegetable with a distinctive flavour that can be used for cooking or pickling. There are many tempting varieties with bulbs in many shapes and sizes. Plants are undemanding and can be grown in any well-drained, fertile soil in a sunny position. They need a long growing period but can be interplanted with faster-growing crops.
