If you walk into a chip shop you will more than likely end up eating some Maris Piper.  It is one of the most popular variety, Maris Piper is the choice of the chippies. It is the cooking and frying qualities of Piper that made this potato stand out from the crowd and today it is still grown on a large commercial scale.

The tubers are oval in shape with a white skin and cream coloured flesh. It is also a good long-term storage potato. Maincrop maturity with high yields, many tubers per plant and medium dry matter.

Maincrop

Certified Irish Seed

  • Early planting in Feb-March for an August harvest
  • Plant normally April for a September-October harvest
