The Casada Birdeater, also known as Pamphobeteus casada, is a remarkable species of tarantula that captivates enthusiasts with its impressive size and striking appearance. This arachnid hails from the tropical rainforests of South America and is known for its robust build, featuring a dark-colored body adorned with intricate patterns. These tarantulas can grow to substantial sizes, making them a popular choice among arachnid enthusiasts.

Origin: The Casada Birdeater originates from the lush tropical rainforests of South America, specifically found in countries like Brazil and Peru.

Temperature: Ideal temperatures for Casada Birdeaters typically range between 75°F to 85°F (24°C to 29°C). Maintaining a consistent temperature within this range is essential to ensure the well-being of these tarantulas.

Housing: Creating the right environment is crucial when housing Casada Birdeaters. A spacious glass or acrylic terrarium with proper ventilation is ideal. Provide a substrate of peat moss or coconut coir for burrowing. Furnish the enclosure with hides and branches for climbing and shelter. Ensure a humidity level of around 70% to mimic their natural habitat.

Feeding: Casada Birdeaters are carnivorous and primarily feed on insects, small rodents, and occasionally other invertebrates. Offering a varied diet of appropriately sized prey, such as crickets, roaches, and mealworms, is essential to meet their nutritional needs. Be mindful not to overfeed, as obesity can be a concern.

Lifespan: The lifespan of Casada Birdeaters can vary, but they typically live for 10 to 15 years in captivity if provided with proper care. Factors such as diet, environment, and overall health can influence their longevity.

Behavior and Personality: Casada Birdeaters are generally docile and are known for their calm temperament, making them suitable for experienced tarantula keepers. While they can be defensive if they feel threatened, they are not typically aggressive. These tarantulas are nocturnal, and their activity primarily occurs during the night.
