The Orange Venezuelan Corydoras, scientifically known as Corydoras aeneus "Venezuela," is a captivating and colorful variety of the widely popular Corydoras species in the aquarium hobby. This specific variety is notable for its vibrant orange coloration, which makes it a standout addition to any freshwater aquarium. Typically, they reach a size of about 5-7 cm (2-3 inches) in length. Like other Corydoras, they have a stout body with a flattened underside and are equipped with barbels near their mouth, which they use to sift through substrate for food. They are armored catfish, with bony plates covering their bodies, and are known for their peaceful and social nature.

Origin: This particular variety of Corydoras is native to Venezuela, specifically found in the tropical freshwater habitats with calm waters and soft substrates.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for the Orange Venezuelan Corydoras is between 22°C and 26°C (72°F to 79°F).

Water Quality: They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water, with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.5. The water hardness should be soft to medium.

Aquarium Size: A minimum tank size of 60 liters is recommended for a small group of Orange Venezuelan Corydoras. They are schooling fish and should be kept in groups of at least five or more for their social well-being. The tank should have a soft substrate to protect their delicate barbels.

Feeding: They are omnivorous and should be fed a varied diet that includes high-quality sinking pellets or tablets, along with occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms and daphnia.

Lifespan: In a well-maintained aquarium, they can live for about 5 years or more.

Behavior and Personality: Orange Venezuelan Corydoras are peaceful, sociable, and active bottom dwellers. They are often seen scavenging for food or playfully interacting with each other. They are well-suited for community tanks with other peaceful fish.
