Angel Koi, also known as the Philippine Blue Angelfish, is a stunning freshwater fish that has a unique coloration. Its body is predominantly silver with hints of blue, green, and black, making it a popular choice for aquarists who want to add an eye-catching fish to their tank. They can grow up to 15cm in length and have a peaceful temperament, making them a great addition to a community tank.
Feeding
Angel Koi are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods including flakes, pellets, and live or frozen food such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. To ensure their overall health, it is recommended to offer a varied diet and not to overfeed them. Overfeeding can lead to health issues and poor water quality.
Special Requirements
Angel Koi require a well-maintained aquarium with clean water, proper filtration, and regular water changes. They prefer a heavily planted tank with plenty of hiding places, driftwood, and rocks to mimic their natural habitat. The water temperature should be between 24-27°C, and the pH level should be kept between 6.0-7.5.
Ideal Aquarium Size
Angel Koi require a minimum tank size of 75 liters for a single fish, but a larger tank is recommended if you plan to keep them with other fish. They are active swimmers and appreciate open swimming spaces.
Temperament
Angel Koi are generally peaceful and can be kept in a community tank with other non-aggressive fish. However, they may become territorial during breeding, so it is recommended to provide plenty of hiding places if you plan to breed them.
Adult size
Angel Koi can grow up to 15cm in length.
PH Range
The ideal pH range for Angel Koi is between 6.0-7.5.
