The Rasbora Rummynose Asian, scientifically known as Sawbwa Resplendens, is a captivating and strikingly beautiful fish species that hails from Southeast Asia. With its vibrant colors and distinctive markings, this small freshwater fish has become a popular choice among aquarium enthusiasts.

Origin: The Sawbwa Resplendens, or Rasbora Rummynose Asian, is native to Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand, specifically found in the cool, clear waters of their rivers and streams.

Temperature: To thrive, these fish require an ideal water temperature between 22°C to 26°C (72°F to 79°F). Maintaining the proper temperature is crucial for their well-being.

Feeding: In their natural habitat, they primarily feed on small insects, zooplankton, and algae. In captivity, they are omnivorous and can be fed a balanced diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. Providing them with a variety of foods will help keep them healthy and vibrant.

Water Quality: Sawbwa Resplendens prefer slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH range of 6.0 to 7.0. The water hardness should be around 2 to 12 dH, which is considered soft to moderately hard.

Ideal Aquarium Size: For a comfortable and stress-free environment, a minimum aquarium size of 30 liters (approximately 8 gallons) is recommended for a small group of these fish. It's essential to replicate their natural habitat with ample hiding spots, plants, and gentle water flow.

Lifespan: When properly cared for, Rasbora Rummynose Asian fish can live for up to 5 years in captivity. Maintaining stable water parameters, providing a balanced diet, and ensuring a stress-free environment contribute to their longevity.

Community Tank Compatibility: These fish are known for their peaceful temperament, making them excellent candidates for community tanks. They thrive when kept in a group of their own kind or with other peaceful species that share similar water requirements, such as other rasbora species, tetras, and small catfish.

Breeding: To breed Sawbwa Resplendens, create a breeding tank with soft, acidic water and plenty of fine-leaved plants like java moss. Provide a balanced diet rich in protein and initiate a temperature drop followed by a gradual increase. The male will chase the female, and the eggs will be scattered among the plants. Remove the adults to prevent them from eating the eggs, and raise the fry on a diet of infusoria and small live foods.

Please note: We don't ship live animals. You can order online and choose click and collect, and we will hold it for you.
