This Gasteria belongs to the family of Affodilaceae and succulent plants. They store water and nutrients in their leaves, which helps them survive in their areas of origin (South Africa) with long dry periods. Therefore, the Gasteria is an ideal houseplant for busy people who, despite having little time, value attractive decoration and improving the air in the room. The water and nutrient requirements are low. Since the plant grows slowly, regular repotting is not necessary. Once a year you should check whether the roots still have enough space in their container and, if necessary, repot them in fresh, sandy, coarse soil.
Note that the plant is watered from below to prevent rot in the plant. Gasteria does not like waterlogging; its roots react sensitively to it and the risk of root rot increases.
