Lythrum salicaria, commonly known as purple loosestrife, is a vigorous perennial plant celebrated for its tall, striking spikes of magenta flowers. Blooming from mid-summer to early autumn, this hardy plant adds vibrant color and vertical interest to gardens and naturalized areas. Its lance-shaped, green leaves turn shades of red in the fall, providing seasonal interest beyond its blooming period.
