The Siamese Fighter Plakat Alien, often simply referred to as the Plakat Alien, is a captivating and exotic fish that hails from the remote regions of Southeast Asia. Its name "Alien" comes from the otherworldly appearance of its elongated fins, which resemble the wings of extraterrestrial creatures. Origin: The Plakat Alien originates from the tropical waters of Southeast Asia, primarily found in countries such as Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia.

Temperature: To ensure the well-being of your Plakat Alien, maintain an ideal water temperature between 26°C to 30°C (78°F to 86°F).

Feeding: These fish are omnivorous and should be provided with a balanced diet. Offer them a variety of foods, including high-quality pellets, frozen or live insects, and occasional treats like brine shrimp or bloodworms. A mix of protein and plant-based foods will keep them healthy and vibrant.

Water Quality: Plakat Aliens thrive in water with a slightly acidic to neutral pH range of 6.5 to 7.5 and moderate water hardness. Regular water changes and filtration are essential to maintain optimal water quality.

Ideal Aquarium Size: For a single Plakat Alien, a tank with a minimum capacity of 20-30 liters (5-8 gallons) is recommended. However, for a small group or community setup, a larger aquarium with a capacity of at least 75-100 liters (20-26 gallons) is advisable, as they require ample swimming space and territories.

Lifespan: With proper care, the Plakat Alien can live for an average of 3 to 5 years, although some individuals have been known to exceed this lifespan in pristine conditions.

Community Tank Compatibility: Plakat Aliens are known for their territorial and aggressive nature. It is best to house them in a species-only tank or with tank mates that are of a similar size and temperament. Avoid keeping them with fin-nipping fish or those that may harass them due to their unique fin structure.

Breeding: Breeding Plakat Aliens requires a separate breeding tank with suitable hiding places. The male builds a bubble nest, and after courtship, the female lays her eggs. Once the fry hatch, provide them with infusoria or finely crushed flakes until they are large enough to consume regular fish food.
