The Siamese Fighter Half Moon Male, also known as the Halfmoon Betta (Betta splendens), is a captivating and highly sought-after freshwater fish known for its stunning finnage and vibrant colors. These Betta fish are popular in the world of aquarium keeping due to their striking appearance and unique behaviors.

Origin: The Siamese Fighter Half Moon Male is native to the freshwater rice paddies, slow-moving streams, and canals of Southeast Asia, including countries like Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. They inhabit warm and shallow waters, often in areas with dense vegetation.

Temperature: Maintaining the ideal water temperature is crucial for the well-being of Siamese Fighter Half Moon Males. They thrive in a tropical temperature range of 24°C to 28°C (75°F to 82°F). Keeping the water within this range ensures their activity, health, and vibrant coloration.

Water Quality: Siamese Fighter Half Moon Males are sensitive to water quality, particularly when it comes to water parameters. They prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of around 6.5 to 7.5. Water hardness should be in the range of 2 to 15 dGH (degrees of General Hardness). Regular water changes and filtration are essential to maintain optimal water quality.

Aquarium Size: For keeping Siamese Fighter Half Moon Males, it's recommended to provide an aquarium with a minimum size of 20 liters (5 gallons). While they are relatively small fish, they require space to swim and explore. A properly sized aquarium should include hiding spots, live or silk plants, and gentle filtration to create a suitable environment.

Feeding: Siamese Fighter Half Moon Males are carnivorous and have a diet consisting primarily of high-quality betta pellets or flakes. They can also be fed live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. It's essential to provide a varied diet to ensure their nutritional needs are met. Feeding should occur once or twice a day, with portions small enough to be consumed within a few minutes.

Lifespan: In captivity, Siamese Fighter Half Moon Males can have a lifespan of 2 to 5 years or more with proper care. Their lifespan is influenced by factors such as water quality, diet, and genetics. Providing a stable and well-maintained aquarium environment is essential for their longevity.

Behavior and Personality: Siamese Fighter Half Moon Males are known for their unique and often territorial personalities. They are called "Siamese Fighters" for a reason, as males can be aggressive towards other males, especially when housed together. However, they can coexist with peaceful tankmates like certain species of peaceful fish and shrimp. These Bettas are known for their interactive behaviors, including flaring their fins and building bubble nests during the breeding season.

Please note: We don't ship live animals. You can order online and choose click and collect, and we will hold it for you. When considering Siamese Fighter Half Moon Males as pets, it's essential to provide them with a suitable aquarium environment, maintain water quality, and be mindful of their potential territorial behavior when housing multiple males.
