Zebra Nerite Snail (Neritina natalensis) is a popular freshwater snail species known for its striking black and yellow striped shell. These snails are native to various regions in Africa, including the Congo Basin and the Nile River.

Origin: Zebra Nerite Snails originate from freshwater habitats in Africa, primarily found in the Congo Basin and the Nile River.

Temperature: These snails thrive in a tropical environment with an ideal water temperature ranging from 24°C to 28°C (75°F to 82°F).

Water Quality: Zebra Nerite Snails prefer slightly alkaline water conditions with a pH level between 7.5 and 8.5. They also require moderately hard water with a water hardness (GH) of 6-12 dGH.

Aquarium Size: To keep Zebra Nerite Snails healthy and happy, it's recommended to provide them with an aquarium of at least 10 to 20 liters (2.5 to 5.3 gallons) in size. Ensure the tank has a secure lid to prevent escape, as they are excellent climbers.

Feeding: These snails are herbivores and feed primarily on algae and biofilm that grow on aquarium surfaces. They are great natural algae cleaners and help maintain a clean and balanced aquarium environment. Occasionally, you can supplement their diet with algae wafers or blanched vegetables like zucchini.

Lifespan: Zebra Nerite Snails have a relatively long lifespan for aquarium snails, typically living for 2 to 3 years when kept in suitable conditions. Providing them with a proper diet and stable water parameters can contribute to their longevity.

Behavior and Personality: Zebra Nerite Snails are peaceful and solitary creatures. They spend most of their time grazing on algae and exploring the aquarium. They are known for their unique striped shells, which add aesthetic appeal to any tank. These snails are compatible with various fish and other peaceful aquatic species.
